Here with me today is my friend, Gracen Miller. Please give her a warm welcome and make sure to leave a comment to be entered into her contest.
Thank you, Sarah, for inviting me to be a guest here on your blog! I’m honored by the opportunity.
Wow! This has been a really crazy, wild and exciting week. My debut book, The Devil’s Den, was released on April 1, 2008, with Firedrakes Weyr Publishing. It is a paranormal romance set in present day. For those of you interested, it is not a book for the faint at heart and has some really intense and violent scenes.
Blurb: It was the opportunity of a lifetime, or so Meredith told her best friend, Serena. It had Serena thinking Meredith was finally eligible for the looney-bin. Meredith was talking about monsters and fairytales, some real wacko smack bordering on insanity as far as Serena was concerned. So, when Meredith disappeared, there was only one thing Serena could do, take matters into her own hands and investigate the local criminal hotspot, The Devil’s Den. The bar was as seedy and decadent as it was reputed to be. And the creature she found there—Six was his first, middle and last name—was nothing short of terrifying, his abilities completely defying logic. Yet, it was easier for Serena to pretend he was not all that he claimed.
Born over 3,000 years ago, Six is a vampire who has become jaded and spoiled by his feral power and immortality. Humans are nothing more significant than toys to be played with and in fact his favorite sport is to locate the most innocent of victims and then torture them cruelly before taking their lives. Even with his supernatural arrogance, nothing could have prepared Six for the sudden unexplainable desire he feels toward the human, Serena. Serena, a karate instructor happy with her bland, boring life, launches his demoralized existence into a chaotic mess.
Through their tangled encounters, Six is surprised when he realizes he has found his salvation in the one thing he despises most…humanity. And Serena having never been the adventurous type, but instead having always taken the safer route her entire life, finds adventure when she needs it most and wanted it the least.
I would love some feedback from anyone that reads The Devil’s Den. Tell me what you liked and what you didn’t like. You can contact me with a review at contact@gracenmiller.com.
The evening of April 1st, I participated in an internet talk radio show, The Dragon’s Den, with Firedrakes Weyr CEO/Editor-in-Chief, Peggy Roberts. You can listen to an archive here, if you’re interested. Enter the site, click on “Archives” and then select “Peggy Roberts – Dragon’s Den”. I swear I do not sound that southern! I wonder if we all have problems listening to ourselves played back? I know I cringe each time I hear myself.
Afterward, I participated in a live chat with Sarah in the Firedrakes chat room. After more than four hours of chatting, Sarah, Sierra Wolfe and I formed Deadly Vixens Yahoo! Group! I’m really excited about hooking up with these two authors! We’d love for you to come join us, tell us about yourself, your family, whether your write or just read, and anything else you would care to share. We would also love for you to join our blog, The Deadly Vixens, give us feedback and comments, even suggest a topic or two you would like for us to write about.
I have been writing since I was in sixth grade, when my English teacher introduced me to the deistic power of writing. Having written for over two decades does not make me an expert writer. Each time I pen a new story I hope I have improved on my skill. More importantly, I hope I have entertained the reader.
I live in Alabama with my very active family, which consist of three boys (my husband being the third and biggest kid), and a cat and dog that jointly own me. Presently, I work from home as a part-time paralegal and a full-time shuttle-bus for my two sports inclined boys.
If you leave a comment or feedback, then you'll be entered for a chance to win a bookmark, and maybe even a copy of my book, too!
